Foundation Dinner & Auction

2004 LCF FUNDRAISING DINNER & AUCTION
Thursday, February 12
Valhalla Inn Ballroom

An evening of exciting auctions and fine food. Many valuable items, including works of art, will be offered by Live and Silent Auctions.

Proceeds from the 2004 LCF Fundraising Dinner & Auction will support local Conservation Areas.

Tickets cost $50 per person. To purchase tickets, contact a Foundation member or drop by the Conservation Authority office (call 344-5857). You may also PRINT and mail, or SUBMIT a ticket order form. We will contact you by phone about receiving your tickets. Tickets can be charged to VISA over the phone, in person or by mail.

Lakehead Conservation will warn children on the dangers of thawing lakes and rivers.

Spring is in the air and so are the birds. Watch the bird migration spectacle. Experts will help you see the birds.

Visit Lakehead Conservation's display to learn about our projects and Conservation Areas. Ask questions about fish habitat with staff from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

ARBOUR WEEK
May 25 to 28

Celebrate by planting a tree or fruiting shrub at home. Lakehead Conservation staff will be helping local students to discover all the great things we get from forests and why we should conserve this renewable resource.

Find out some tips and try your luck fishing from shore or canoe. No license needed, as part of the Ontario Family Fishing Weekend.

Purple Loosestrife LOOSESTRIFE CONTROL MONTH
July 5 to 31
Volunteers needed

Purple Loosestrife is an invading plant that threatens valuable wetland habitat. Help stop the spread of loosestrife by spending an hour to dig up plants at a targeted growing site. Contact Lakehead Conservation for details, instructions and sites.
