| GROUNDWATER MONITORING |
|
Lakehead Conservation is participating in the Provincial Groundwater Monitoring Network. Wells are used to gather data about groundwater at sites in the Lakehead watershed and across the province. The Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE) is coordinating funding for the program. Ten new wells and two existing wells will be used for the project. Sites have already been selected by Lakehead Conservation in consultation with an MOE hydrogeologist. Installation should proceed in the spring of 2004. Long-term monitoring of the wells will be done to gather data. |
