Dam - There is a fast moving current and if you fall over the edge, you will be tumbled over and over again at the bottom. Since the force of the current is so strong, it will keep dragging you back towards the dam.
Thinning Ice - Running water makes the ice soft and weak and can easily break under your weight. You could fall in under the ice and the current could sweep you away.
Riverbanks - Your weight on the edge of a bank that has been cut away may cause it to break away and send you tumbling into the river. Keep far away from the edge!

The safest thing to do is to stay away from rivers.
