install flow-restricting devices and fix your leaky faucets

place a water-filled container or toilet dams in toilet tank; save on each flush
use a rain-barrel for outdoor needs
use cold water whenever possible
run only full loads in dishwasher or washing machine
put your lawn on a water diet
sweep the driveway; do not hose it off
