Lakehead Conservation was pleased to offer work experience to several short-term staff this year. Employment funding was provided by the federal Summer Career Placements program, the Ontario Summer Experience program and Lakehead Conservation. The City of Thunder Bay funded a River Cleanup crew.

Conservation members and staff extend many thanks to the temporary employees for their hard work in the following tasks:

  • water quality monitoring
  • Conservation Area maintenance
  • Watershed Assessment Reports
  • education kit writing
  • Kam River Heritage research
  • website development
  • digital mapping
Above: Lakehead Conservation hosted a display at a local mall where we handed out free tree seedlings. The seedlings had been donated by the Tree Canada Foundation. Short-term employees Jordan Forbes (at left) and Steven Johns enjoyed speaking with people.
