NEW STREAMFLOW GAUGES
excerpted from 2001 LRCA Annual ReportOriginally posted: Jan. 11, 2002

Additions are being made to Lakehead Conservation's network of streamflow gauges. Under a partnership agreement, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources will fund the capital and operational costs for two gauge sites. Lakehead Conservation is responsible for installation.

The gauges will provide data on water levels and flows on the watercourses. This real-time information will aid in forecasting possible flooding. The sites for the new streamflow gauges will be Corbett Creek and the North Current River.

Above: Streamflow gauges, similar to this design, will be installed at two sites.
