NEW STREAMFLOW GAUGES
excerpted from 2002 LRCA Annual ReportOriginally posted: Jan. 08, 2003

Lakehead Conservation added two new streamflow gauges to its network of flood forecasting equipment. The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources funded the capital costs and will provide operating funds.

The gauges will provide data on water levels and flows on the watercourses. Precipitation gauges help to record rainfall events. This real-time information will aid in forecasting possible flooding.

The new streamflow gauges are situated on Corbett Creek and the North Current River.
