New Neste Boat Launch on the Kam River at Mountdale Ave.

Small boat owners can enjoy better access to the Kaministiquia River in Thunder Bay. The Conservation Authority, on behalf of the City of Thunder Bay, supervised construction of a launch facility at the foot of Mountdale Ave. The Neste Boat Launch is situated partly on a parcel of land donated by Neste Resins.

The single launch ramp is complemented by a landscaped overlook on the river. In its first season of operation, the launch has been well-used. Boaters are pleased to have a place close to home where they can get out on the water for a couple of hours of fishing or sightseeing upstream.

The Authority's engineer also supervised a retrofit of the launch on Mission Island. The ramp was extended to facilitate launching.
