PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - 1997
Some of the lucky winners who enjoyed the 1997 LCF Dinner & Auction.
The great success of our 1997 Dinner and Auction (over $17,000 in proceeds) allowed us to conclude our campaign for the Hazelwood Lake Centre. I wish to thank our volunteers for their hard work and businesses, organizations and individuals for their generous contributions. Other fund-raising activities included Nevada ticket sales, coin boxes, memberships and donations.

The Blake Memorial Grove program provided funds for our conservation work and continues to beautify the Floodway. More than 1,900 trees are now part of the Grove. The dedication service was attended by 500 family members and friends.

The Foundation has commenced a new campaign for the Cascades Conservation Area. The Authority's recent Master Plan update calls for new facilities around the parking lot and some trail improvements. We will provide $100,000 in funding over the next few years.

I invite you to be a part of our work by becoming a 'Friend of the Foundation', giving towards the Cascades campaign, or making a Memorial Grove donation.

Phil Jarvis,
President
